Johor Outlet...who knew??

I've recently found a few new gals to chum around with. They are all new(er) to Singapore so exploring with them is quite fun. One of them had been to an outlet mall in Johor ( Malaysia) just across the Strait. So we climbed into her car and were off for a day's adventure north.  Turns out this outlet centre is owned/built by the same folks who own my favs back in the states ( Carlsbad - CA and Wrentham - MA). Who knew?? It was sort of like being at home, or at least  gave the sensation of the familiar.

But first, we need to begin our day of hunting with some nice coffee from the Green Bean. Mmmm, nothing like a Double Chocolate Latte - - except the Dark Chocolate one back home.

We explored the whole downstairs, stopping at old favorites and exploring new. I discovered an Australian handbag company called Oroton, and now am the proud owner of a purple leather handbag covered with polka dots. SO me!! Lunch was at Dome eatery, which served us up  yummy sandwiches and salads. Very Western. Hard to get a good salad sometimes in Singapore.
We all had a "mission" to buy something. Terri came in last, but did succeed in our goal. Phew.

After a long day of looking and trying on  (no white capris available), our DD suggested a stop at Tesco. I knew Tesco from our first time living in the UK. Always a pleasure. While the food stock was  bit different, I did manage to score a few items - larger bottles of HP sauce!!

But this set us back time wise. We headed for the causeway and the border. OMG what a Q on the bridge. We sat for over an hour inching toward the toll booths. Once there, it went quite quickly. But then once on the motorways in Singapore, we got to sit some more. I've never seen traffic like this here. But I don't travel this time of day, nor take a car. Thank you MRT!!
Finally arrived back at Casa Black & White, promptly opened the fridge and was thankful for left overs to stuff in my face. It was near 8pm.
All in all a GREAT day. Hope to travel more with these gals.

DRY!!......

It has become so dry here. It hasn't rained n two whole months. OK, I lie. I did "rain" today for 1 minute. And I mean 1 !!! I walked out of the house to rake leave and I could smell that lovely scent of dampness. I got giddy. But it was over as soon as it started. I think the rain clouds have gone the way of the missing airliner. Poof - gone.
